Outlook on the Belgian job market 2025
Learn why it is now more than ever crucial to manage salary expectations - and how to do it.
Our salary and trends analysis benchmarks profiles of SME & Blue-Chip organisations with salary data until end of Q3 2024 across the entire territory of Belgium for entry level up to executive positions. The primary data source are the 2,500+ placements we complete each year. This data is aggregated with the salary information provided by the +25,000 candidates we are meeting each year – excluding the ones who are not currently working in Belgium. Due to the variety of missions we conduct each year, this guide presents mid-point figures that may vary +/- 15% according to the company’s location, size, sector and benefits practices. Due to the great diversity of bonus systems and processes in Belgian companies, all salaries listed are fixed monthly salaries in thousands of euros only (including lump sum if applicable).

To gather the most relevant data, this study on job roles and salaries is based on the following criteria:
The Study of Job RolesBy "job role", we refer to the set of responsibilities and obligations associated with a position. We have aimed to be as comprehensive as possible by presenting the most frequently handled roles by our teams, considering levels of responsibility. However, the highlighted factors (profile, experience, salary) should be adjusted based on the company’s structure and size, the dynamics of each sector, and of course, the state of the economy. The Salary SurveyOur salary benchmarks are structured by years of experience to help you assess your job level and salary through salary ranges (from medior to senior manager rolls with 10+ years of experience). The salaries presented are expressed in thousands of euros (€) and correspond to the average gross annual salary in Belgium, with additional notes, where applicable, on variable pay and bonuses.
A salary benchmark helps an HR expert structure and standardise pay within a company, and helps an employee assess their salary level for a given sector and job. It takes into account various factors such as experience, skills, industry, and geographic location. Our salary guide allows you to stay aligned with market trends. This can help you adjust your company’s salary scale according to market realities in 2025 or prepare for salary negotiations with your current employer or in your job search. Whether you’re in the recruitment process or seeking salary transparency, our experts provide a clear, detailed view to help you adjust your practices and stay competitive in your sector.
The salaries indicated in our salary guide are based on gross annual figures, as recruiters always quote a gross annual salary during the recruitment process. So, what is the difference between gross and net salary? How can you estimate your net salary from a gross amount? In Belgium, the gross salary refers to the amount paid by the employer before income tax deductions and without the social charges that the employee is responsible for (CSG, CRDS, pension contributions, unemployment contributions, social security contributions, etc.). These contributions are mandatory, whether you are a manager or not; only the percentage of deduction will vary. The net salary, shown at the bottom right of your payslip under the "net to pay" section, is the amount actually received by the employee. Want to calculate your annual or monthly net salary?
